Release Notes

v1.01 of DanSharp XmlViewer.
Update 2011-10-05
  • Updated the GenerateBizUnitTestCase.reg file as it was pointing to the old default install location
  • Updated the version/url information output by the command line
  • Updated the BizUnit TestCase output to include version/url and original file name comments
Haven't updated the versioning as these changes don't affect the operation of the application, they're just cosmetic.

The release contains a bug fix for v1.00 for problems with long file names and application startup errors.
Additionally, all references to (my blog) have been changed to

If you just want to run the software, without installing the documentation or BizUnit Registry Settings, then just download the DanSharp.XmlViewer v1.01.exe (GUI) or DanSharp.XmlViewer (Console) files.

If you'd like to add the ability to generate BizUnit 3.x Test Cases by right-clicking on an xml file and choosing Generate BizUnit Test Case then download and run the GenerateBizUnitTestCase.reg file.
Note: this reg file assumes that you have installed XmlViewer in the default location. If you haven't, then you will need to import the reg file, then edit the registry key (using regedit.exe) and modify the location of the application.
Because we use an expandable string value in the registry key, the reg file contents are expressed as binary, so it's not easy to edit the reg file directly.

Reviews for this release

A Simple and yet elegant tool for create xPath statements. I use this tool extensively with BizTalk.

The best and only tool I need when it comes to generating and testing XPath queries for an XML message. An absolute must have in every BizTalk (or other type of developer dealing with XML) developers toolbox.
